Circular Economy, the Infinity Pool of Innovations

October 30th 2017

Having long been reduced to recycling only, circular economy is today being envisioned in all its aspects: sustainable production, eco-conception, industrial and territorial ecology, functionality economy, responsible consuming, life cycle duration lengthening and recycling, which primary goal is to reduce our intake on natural resources.

These make for as many domains subject to innovation, often supported by the digital revolution. These innovative solutions are increasing in number and range from resource optimisation to fighting food waste through energy production, optimisation of recycling and waste management.

Since the launch in 2013 of the first innovation platform for the circular economy, impulsed by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, concrete innovations are developing, as shown by the increasing number of green-focused incubators. Furthermore, the actions plan announced by the French Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition for March 2018 should add to this emulation.
