Reinvigorating Climate Finance and Fostering the New Climate Economy

14 December 2017, 14:00 - 15:30

Paris Porte de Versailles

(Simultaneous English-French translation will be provided during the session)

Climate finance is a pragmatic tool that has been developed to compensate the lack of carbon pricing mechanisms. Slowly a momentum has crystallised with a new paradigm that finance is to be mobilised to fund climate and green projects, and that financing flows should progressively be directed away from projects and companies incompatible with climate and environment policies and regulations.

The session, closing a series of international meetings, will be the occasion to measure the most recent achievements for mobilising finance, the perspectives of growth and prosperity, and the efforts still needed to ensure transition to a low-carbon and green economy. Panellists, from institutions and private finance organisations will share views and dialogue on their common goals and respective role to play to ensure that a shift for mainstreamed climate investments is indeed happening.
