New label for the crowdfunding of Green Growth

    16 October 2017

Following the establishment of the “Energy and Ecological Transition for the Climate” Label in 2015, dedicated to investment funds, participatory financing platforms and the Financement Participatif France (FPF) Association have expressed their intention to benefit from the same technique, adapted to participatory financing projects. On the 28th of September, Nicolas Hulot, Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, and Stéphanie Savel, president of FPF, signed a partnership agreement. By allowing to qualify the crowdfunding projects that contribute to TEE in the regions, the Participatory Finance for Green Growth Label will help shift funding towards low-carbon economy.

To receive this label a project must meet several criteria: eligibility, transparency of information and proof of its positive impacts. The project must, therefore, be involved in green activity (including sustainable agriculture) and be subject to transparent information practice internally, and document its environmental and social impacts. Also, its positive contribution to TEE must be proven by a measure mechanism put in place by the project leader.

All forms of financing are relevant: donations, loans, capital, bonds, royalties and minibons.

The first projects receiving this label will be presented in December during a specific conference at World Efficiency Solutions.
