    July 28th 2017

In July, the Commission for Transition Energy Environment (ex-Club Cleantech) of the AFIC published its report on investments made in the first half of 2017 in the cleantech sector, revealing that 34 funding operations had been carried out in the past six months.

The total amounts, known for 31 of them, bring the equity contributed by French private equity professionals to 141 M €. The main sectors invested in include energy efficiency (€ 77 million for 10 funding operations), transport / mobility (€ 15.5 million for 7 funding operations) and renewables (€ 13.5 million for 7 funding operations). A new category was added this year: Ag-Tech, an emerging and promising sector for agricultural and agri-food sectors (€ 4 million for 4 funding operations).

The top three belong to: Actility, the specialist in low-range, long-range IoT and reference in LoRa networks; M2i Life Sciences, which produces pheromones used as insect traps in crop protection; and SeaBubbles, which has developed a water-taxi electric flying boat ‘zero noise, zero waves, zero emissions’ based on a hydrofoil system (a prototype was tested in mid-June on the Seine).
