    Record High in French Startups Fundraising

    According to CB Insights, a specialist in startups and innovation data crosschecking, 523 operations in venture capital were made in France between January and September 2017, amounting to a total of 2.6bn$. If the country keeps up on this track, this amount will have reached 3.5bn$ by the end of the year with nearly 700 operations made. This rise of 42% in operations and 79% in invested funds has put France in the second place for number of operations, behind the United-Kingdom and before Germany, and in the third place for raised funds.


    Internet remains by far the foremost funded sector (65%), followed by mobile internet and telecoms (16.3%) and electronics (7.3%). The largest funding was attributed to Actility, the specialist of in device connection via LoraWAN networks, which raised 70M€. With its long-range low-debit IoT system, Actility offers solutions for domotics, smart building, lightning and parking.


    The trimestrial study from CB Insights also indicates that the Impact USA programme (Bpifrance & Business France), Paris & Co and the Bpifrance Hub rank amongst the most attracting incubators. Regarding investors, Bpifrance, Maif Avenir and Kima Ventures were the most productive.
